Konttaniemi Reindeer Farm is a genuine reindeer farm located approximately 7 km from Rovaniemi, along side Ounasjoki-river. The owners herd the reindeer on their own farmyard making their living from it. At the farm guest are acquainted with old and new reindeer hearding culture and how they are used side by side complementing each other.

The main building of  the reindeer farm is originally built in the end of 1930 in Norvajärvi, a small village approx. 20 km from Rovaniemi. To it’s current place it was moved in 1985. The extension of the main building was completed in 1998. In the old greatroom there are seats for 36 person when the new greatroom is twice as big, 80 seats.

At the farmyard there are several old buildings, of which turfhut and big Kota-hut can be used as an eating place for groups.
