Porohovi is a brand new restaurant opened in November 2004. Gorgeous 200-seater logrestaurant is located at the eastern side of Ounasjoki-river.
Furnishings and
decoration are made from Lappish materials. Chandeliers are made of
reindeer antlers and curtains from reindeer leather. The heart of the
house, enourmous fire place, is made of natural stones. In the hall there are reindeer– and Lappish themed art and crafts.
Porohovi is perfect dining place for big groups as well as place for family celebrations, such as birthday parties, weddings, etc.
There is also a separate Kota-hut restaurant (40 seats) at the yard. This cosy restaurant is suitable dining place for smaller groups and it can also be used alongside Porohovi in special occasions for big groups.
It is also possible to arrange reindeer rides for the quests of Porohovi.
